Former Ellen DeGeneres Show child star Sophia Grace Brownlee<\/a> has no regrets about becoming a young mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was quite young when I had River. I was 19, which I do feel like is quite young,\u201d Brownlee, 22, said on the Wednesday, February 25, episode of the \u201cPrivate Story\u201d podcast<\/a>, referring to her son. \u201cI don\u2019t regret, like, doing anything because I\u2019m quite happy with where I am now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brownlee announced in October 2022 that she was expecting her first baby<\/a> before giving birth to River in March 2023. The social media star revealed the next year<\/a> that she was pregnant again. Brownlee gave birth to daughter Athena in January 2025. (Brownlee has not publicly revealed the father of her children.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I had Athena, I was 21, which is a bit more older,\u201d she explained on Wednesday\u2019s episode. \u201cIt\u2019s obviously young to have kids, but I don\u2019t really think there\u2019s a right age to have kids as long as you\u2019re ready<\/a> and you\u2019re mature enough, that\u2019s all that matters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brownlee further acknowledged that, because of her experience on Ellen DeGeneres Show, she was \u201cfinancially stable\u201d enough to provide for a family without struggling.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I wasn\u2019t, like, I would have been struggling a lot,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, yeah, I\u2019m blessed to have been in that situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Brownlee has found a sweet rhythm as a mom of two, she didn\u2019t have the easiest pregnancy and childbirth journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt actually went quite bad with River<\/a>. It wasn\u2019t a nice experience,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI went into labor naturally, and I was just a week early, which is common. That\u2019s not a problem, and everything was fine. It just, kind of, got bad when you\u2019re actually trying to push the baby out. He was getting really stressed out, and he just wouldn\u2019t come down properly like how [babies] are supposed to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brownlee continued, \u201cLoads of different doctors and surgeons [came into my room], which is so scary. I was, like, \u2018What\u2019s happening?\u2019 They were, like, \u2018We think we\u2019re going to have to do a C-section<\/a> because the baby\u2019s getting distressed.\u2019 I was just so scared that they were going to put me to sleep \u2018cause that is one of my biggest fears because I think I\u2019m not going to wake up.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Brownlee, her emergency caesarean was \u201cone of the scariest times\u201d in her life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never even been in hospital properly for anything in my life, so I\u2019m laying there in a room full of so many people,\u201d the YouTube star explained. \u201cI\u2019ve got this curtain up in front of me because they don\u2019t want you to see it, and I was numb anyway. I\u2019d had an epidural, which numbs you from the waist down, because I couldn\u2019t handle the pain.\u201d<\/p>\n

River was eventually delivered safely, which was a completely different experience from Brownlee\u2019s birth with Athena.<\/p>\n
