{"id":323366,"date":"2026-03-01T12:00:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T12:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/323366\/"},"modified":"2026-03-01T12:00:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T12:00:07","slug":"latest-convicted-criminals-among-latest-cohort-of-people-deported-from-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/323366\/","title":{"rendered":"LATEST: Convicted criminals among latest cohort of people deported from Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than 60 men, women and children have arrived in South Africa having been deported from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ireland-live.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ireland<\/a> this weekend, gardai have confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, members of the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) carried out an operation removing dozens of individuals from the State on foot of Deportation Orders issued by the Minister for Justice.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This operation resulted in the removal of 63 South African nationals &#8211; 28 adult males, 26 adult females and 9 juveniles.\u00a0The juveniles removed were all part of family groups,&#8221; said a garda spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>READ ALSO:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ireland-live.ie\/news\/national-news\/2027561\/rip-two-teenagers-killed-three-injured-in-early-morning-road-crash-in-county-mayo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">RIP: Two teenagers killed, three injured in early-morning road crash in County Mayo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a post on social media, The Minister for Justice, Jim O&#8217;Callaghan, confirmed all of the individuals were removed on a chartered flight which left Dublin for South Africa, arriving on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A further deportation flight left Dublin yesterday and landed safely this morning in Johannesburg, South Africa.
