This is the first picture of the man who has been charged with burgling a house in Co Meath<\/a> with intent to commit rape<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mampeme Mikamibua, 27, is facing up to 14 years in prison upon conviction after he was in court on Friday over the alleged incident. Mikamibua, with an address at Lagore Crescent in Dunshaughlin, is alleged to have burgled a property in the town last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

It is alleged he burgled the property at Lagore Lawns by trespassing with intent to commit an arrestable offence of rape. He appeared in front of Judge Eirinn McKiernan at a sitting of Navan District Court, also in Co Meath, on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Mikamibua is charged under section 12 (1) (a) of the Theft and Fraud Act. That section relates to burgling a property by trespassing with intent to commit the arrestable offence.<\/p>\n

Detective Sergeant Shane Dervan told Judge McKiernan the accused made no reply to the charge. There was a bail application, to which Det Sgt Dervan objected because of the serious nature of the alleged offence.<\/p>\n

Judge McKiernan refused the bail application and the accused was remanded in custody to appear at Trim District Court, also in Meath, next Tuesday. The judge also directed the accused receive urgent medical and psychiatric treatment while in custody.<\/p>\n
