Alex Warren<\/a>\u00a0performed an orchestral version of \u2018Ordinary\u2019 with\u00a0James Blunt<\/a>\u00a0on piano\u00a0at\u00a0the 2026\u00a0BRIT Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The annual awards show went down\u00a0in\u00a0Manchester\u2019s Co-op Live Arena on Saturday night (February 28), with\u00a0Olivia Dean running away as the biggest winner with an impressive four gongs<\/a>, including Artist, Album and Song of\u00a0the\u00a0Year.<\/p>\n

The latter prize saw Dean and\u00a0Sam Fender<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Rein Me In<\/a>\u2019 victorious, while the International Song of the Year award went to\u00a0ROS\u00c9<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Bruno\u00a0Mars<\/a>\u2019 \u2018APT\u2019, beating out several major hits, including \u2018Ordinary\u2019.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t stop Warren from playing a stirring version of the song later in the show, where he was joined by Blunt on piano and backed by a lush string section. Watch the performance here:<\/p>\n

\u2018Ordinary\u2019 was the most played song on British radio\u00a0in 2025\u00a0and also\u00a0became the longest-running UK Number One by a US artist in this decade so far.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the performance, Warren said<\/a>: \u201cThe UK is where \u2018Ordinary\u2019 first broke and changed my life last year. I am so grateful for all the love from my fans there, and I can\u2019t wait to bring a big performance to the BRITs\u2019 stage for the very first time.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was also revealed at the end of 2025 that\u00a0\u2018Ordinary\u2019 had been the most-streamed song of the 2020s over the course of the year<\/a>, clocking up around\u00a0750million streams.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere at the BRITs,\u00a0Robbie Williams led an all-star version of Ozzy Osbourne\u2019s \u2018No More Tears\u2019<\/a>,\u00a0with the late Black Sabbath<\/a>\u00a0frontman\u00a0being\u00a0honoured\u00a0with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while\u00a0Tim Burgess\u00a0paid tribute to The Stone Roses\u2019 Mani<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Contribution to Music winner\u00a0Mark Ronson was joined for a career-spanning medley by Dua Lopa and Ghostface Killah<\/a>, while\u00a0Wolf Alice\u2019s Ellie Rowsell called for further support for the UK\u2019s grassroots music venues<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Geese\u2019s Max Bassin attacked ICE and called for a free Palestine<\/a>\u00a0during their speeches.\u00a0Rosal\u00eda was also joined by surprise guest Bj\u00f6rk for a dazzling performance of \u2018Berghain\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Alex Warren\u00a0performed an orchestral version of \u2018Ordinary\u2019 with\u00a0James Blunt\u00a0on piano\u00a0at\u00a0the 2026\u00a0BRIT Awards.
