\n\tAunt Gladys won an Actor Award for, as Orlando Bloom put it when introducing the Outstanding Supporting Actress category winner Amy Madigan<\/a>, \u201cterrorizing a suburb in a wig and a tracksuit.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs she took the stage, Madigan performed the iconic Weapons<\/a> run that the children demonstrate in the movie. This is her first Actor Award win and nomination.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been doing this a long ass time, and I have never been nominated by the SAG<\/a> committee, and by the guild. I\u2019m a proud member, and I keep getting asked tonight, \u2018Well, what is it about this night?\u2019 And I said, \u2018Because actors love other actors. They just love being with them. We want to be working with them. We want to look up at them and just go, man, you guys are so good,\u2019\u201d the Field of Dreams star said. \u201cI\u2019m a union person. I come from Chicago, and everybody in my family: all my friends, relatives \u2014 we\u2019re all union people. And I don\u2019t care what somebody says, they\u2019re not going to bust us ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter saying Gladys has surprised her, Madigan shouted out the Weapons ensemble \u2014 Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, Toby Huss and all the \u201clittle kids who ran around with us and stunt people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI did terrorize them, but I let them rip me apart, so it was okay. It truly is the ensemble. And I just want to thank, of course, Zach Cregger, for this great honor,\u201d she continued. \u201cI wasn\u2019t expecting this, but it does really mean a lot to me from my peers. We had a lot of casting changes because of COVID and strikes and this and that, and I want to give a shout out to Allison Jones, who assembled all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe then eagerly picked up the Actor trophy, saying, \u201cLet\u2019s see, what does he have here?\u201d before comparing the experience to \u201cWhen you were little, and you had the Barbie and then you got Ken, and you whipped down his drawers and you went, \u2018Ken has nothing!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI never understood that,\u201d she continued, laughing. \u201cI really am digressing. I apologize. As you can tell, I\u2019m nervous and I\u2019m just overwhelmed and so happy. Thank you, everybody, so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tViewers can look forward to more of Gladys in a Weapons prequel<\/a> focused on the character.<\/p>\n
