Mark Ronson<\/a> was joined by Dua Lipa<\/a> and Ghostface Killah<\/a> for a performance celebrating his career at this year\u2019s BRIT Awards<\/a>. Watch below.<\/p>\n

The producer was recognised for his Outstanding Contribution to Music<\/a> at last night\u2019s (February 28) ceremony.<\/p>\n

During his acceptance speech, Ronson reflected on meeting the late\u00a0Amy Winehouse<\/a>, who he worked with on her second studio album \u2018Back To Black\u2019, telling the crowd: \u201cI realised on the way here that on Thursday March 6, it will be 20 years to the day that Amy Winehouse came up to my studio in New York City.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe came up to the steps and she said, \u2018I\u2019m here to meet Mark Ronson\u2019. And I said, \u2018That\u2019s me\u2019, and she goes, \u2018I thought you were an old guy with a beard\u2019,\u201d he added.\u00a0\u201cAnyway, we went upstairs and we talked for four hours and that night we wrote \u2018Back To Black\u2019, and that day changed my life forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ronson went on to say that he \u201ccan\u2019t believe\u201d the list of artists he has worked with over his two-decade career, and added: \u201cI know the music I made with Amy is the reason that any of them know who I am anyway. That\u2019s why I always treasure her voice, her talent and our bond, all of it.<\/p>\n

He then thanked his fans, saying: \u201cYou put these songs into your lives. You\u2019re the reason any of us are up here. So make some noise for yourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cEvery time in a wedding and I hear \u2018Uptown Funk\u2019 or I see someone busking \u2018Shallow\u2019 or \u2018Valerie\u2019 in the subway \u2013 I can\u2019t believe that I\u2019ve been lucky enough to be a part of songs that mean something to people.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019m so grateful, and thank you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following his speech, he gave a career-spanning performance that began with an appearance from Ghostface Killah for their 2003 hit \u2018Ooh Wee\u2019.<\/p>\n

He then went on to pay tribute to Winehouse with a rendition of her hit single \u2018Back To Black\u2019, before inviting the Dap-Kings \u2013 her live band \u2013 on stage to perform \u2018Valerie\u2019.<\/p>\n

Lipa then made a surprise appearance to perform \u2018Dance The Night\u2019, their collaboration from the Barbie<\/a> soundtrack, as well as their single \u2018Electricity\u2019.<\/p>\n

Ronson is also known for Bruno Mars<\/a>\u2019 \u2018Uptown Funk\u2019 and\u00a0Miley Cyrus<\/a>\u2019 \u2018Nothing Breaks Like A Heart\u2019.<\/p>\n

He has also dropped various solo albums over the years too, as well as helped write award-winning songs for the soundtracks of\u00a0Barbie<\/a>,\u00a0A Star Is Born<\/a>,\u00a0Euphoria<\/a>\u00a0and more. The latest honour adds to his collection of two BRIT Awards, nine\u00a0Grammys<\/a>, and both an\u00a0Academy Award<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Golden Globe<\/a>\u00a0for co-writing \u2018Shallow\u2019 with\u00a0Lady Gaga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Previous recipients of the BRITs Outstanding Contribution to Music honour include\u00a0David Bowie<\/a>,\u00a0Oasis<\/a>,\u00a0Sir Paul McCartney<\/a>,\u00a0Spice Girls<\/a>,\u00a0Elton John<\/a>,\u00a0Queen<\/a>,\u00a0U2<\/a>,\u00a0Robbie Williams<\/a>,\u00a0P!NK<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Blur<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for the BRITs, this year\u2019s show marked the first time in the 46-year history of the BRITs that it was held outside of London<\/a>, with Manchester\u2019s Co-op Live Arena playing host.<\/p>\n

Jack Whitehall hosted the show for the sixth time<\/a>, and there was a glittering array of stars performing live, including\u00a0Harry Styles\u2019 first public performance in three years<\/a>,\u00a0a surprise appearance from Bjork alongside Rosal\u00eda<\/a>, as well as\u00a0Olivia Dean<\/a>,\u00a0HUNTR\/X\u2019s EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI<\/a>,\u00a0Wolf Alice,\u00a0<\/a>Mark Ronson<\/a>,\u00a0Alex Warren<\/a>,\u00a0Sombr<\/a>, and\u00a0RAYE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Noel Gallagher<\/a>\u00a0also attended after\u00a0Oasis\u2019 huge \u2018Live \u201825\u2019 reunion tour<\/a>, and was\u00a0awarded the Songwriter Of The Year award<\/a>, while\u00a0PinkPantheress is the youngest recipient and first female winner of the Producer Of The Year award<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ozzy Osbourne was honoured with the BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award\u00a0<\/a>following\u00a0his passing in July<\/a>, and he also received a tribute performance from\u00a0Robbie Williams\u00a0<\/a>alongside members of Ozzy\u2019s band over the years including Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos and Zakk Wylde.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Olivia Dean<\/a> dominated the night, taking home four awards, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.
