\n\tAnna Camp<\/a> has apologized for sharing a social media post about \u201cScream 7<\/a>\u201d that touted the film\u2019s commercial success<\/a> amid the ongoing boycotts in response to the firing of former franchise star Melissa Barrera.<\/p>\n

\n\tCamp, who plays Jessica Bowden in \u201cScream 7,\u201d reposted an image to her Instagram Story set to Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cKarma\u201d that read, \u201cThe boycott didn\u2019t work. The critics hate didn\u2019t work. The pathetic leaks didn\u2019t work. What worked was audiences coming out and making the film a success.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cScream\u201d fans called for boycotts of the seventh installment after Barrera was fired from the long-running slasher series over social media posts that Spyglass viewed as antisemitic about the Israel-Hamas war. Pro-Palestinian advocates held a protest at last week\u2019s premiere in Los Angeles<\/a> and chanted phrases like \u201cParamount, Paramount, what do you say?\u201d and \u201cPalestine will live forever!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite the vocal backlash, \u201cScream 7\u201d made a killing at the box office<\/a> with $64.1 million domestically and $97 million globally, setting an opening weekend record for the 30-year-old franchise. \u201cScream\u201d veteran Kevin Williamson directed the film, which brought back Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Matthew Lillard in the blood-soaked story about a new Ghostface killer who targets the daughter of Campbell\u2019s unkillable Sidney Prescott.<\/p>\n
