\n\tJennifer Garner<\/a> is reflecting on starring in\u00a0Love, Simon,\u00a0and praised the film and its director, Greg Berlanti.<\/p>\n

\n\tBased on Becky Albertalli\u2019s Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, Love, Simon starred Nick Robinson as a closeted gay teenager who is struggling with coming to terms with his sexuality.<\/p>\n

\n\tGarner plays Robinson\u2019s mother in the 2018 romantic comedy. During an emotional moment of the film, Garner\u2019s Emily Spier has a heart-to-heart with her son about how their relationship will not change after coming out as gay. The heartwarming scene ends with Garner telling Simon that he can now \u201cexhale\u201d and be his authentic self.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile making an appearance on the UK\u2019s Hits Radio, Garner reflected on taking part in the film, saying that \u201cit\u2019s the most important film I\u2019ve ever been a part of.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m so grateful that [Greg Berlanti] asked me [to be part of the movie]. I\u2019m so grateful that I got to play the role and be that mom,\u201d she said. \u201cI hear from people, especially on flights, flight attendants will pass me a note, \u2018You know, Love, Simon, helped me. I saw it with my parents. It really helped us have a conversation.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGarner reiterated \u201cwhy art is so important,\u201d adding, \u201cArt helps you see yourself. It helps you see yourself reflected back. It helps you dream. It helps you see outside of yourself and think and experience someone else\u2019s experience of the world and have more openness and empathy for them.\u201d<\/p>\n
