The man wielding the gavel on the day was Michael Barry of Fermoy-based Dick Barry &amp; Son.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The farm was presented in its two lots (separated by roughly 500m) of 27 acres (Lot 1) and 24 acres (Lot 2). It was a package to tempt a variety of potential purchasers and Lot 1 included a three-bedroom single-storey farmhouse and farmyard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThe auction was well attended,\u201d says Michael, \u201cand there were plenty of interested parties on the day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">When Lot 1 was presented, bidding began at \u20ac500,000 (\u20ac18,500\/acre) and finished at \u20ac740,000 (\u20ac27,400\/acre).
