Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance is launching index-guaranteed annuity plan, while <a rel=\"dofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/sbi-life-insurance-company-ltd\/stocks\/companyid-2898.cms\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#Industry#href\" target=\"_blank\">SBI Life Insurance<\/a> and <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#Industry#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/hdfc-life-insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HDFC Life Insurance<\/a> are planning deferred and variable annuity offerings.<br \/>The change comes with rising longevity, limited social security coverage and growing awareness around the need for stable <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#Industry#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/post-retirement-income\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">post-retirement income<\/a>.<br \/>Pension and annuity segments together consist of 18.87% of the total life insurance industry, as of March 2025. This segment is growing faster than the industry for most insurance companies. <\/p>\n<p>Annuities offer sticky, capital-efficient business, but require careful pricing and hedging discipline in a volatile rate environment.
