The Late Late Show has been cancelled from the RTE schedule this Friday and a surprise replacement has been announced for its usual 9.35pm slot\"Undated<\/p>\n

Fans of The Late Late Show <\/a>may be in for a surprise this week, as RTE’s iconic talk show won’t be hitting its usual Friday night slot.<\/p>\n

The long running programme, which normally airs at 9.35pm and is hosted by Patrick Kielty<\/a>, has been pulled this week in a major schedule shake up.<\/p>\n

The change comes as Ireland takes on Wales in the Six Nations<\/a> on Friday, with the eagerly anticipated match kicking off at 8.10pm at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.<\/p>\n

An RTE spokesperson told RSVP<\/a>: “The Late Late Show will not air this Friday night as Ireland take on Wales in the Six Nations. Coverage of the match begins on RTE2 and RTE Player from 7pm, where rugby fans can get behind the boys in green.”<\/p>\n

The show is set to return next week with a St Patrick’s Day special<\/a>. The spokesperson added: “The Late Late Show will return on Friday, March 13, with a St Patrick’s Day special featuring a fantastic line up of guests ready to kick off the weekend’s festivities.”<\/p>\n

In place of the Late Late Show this week, RTE One<\/a> will air the hit 2009 romantic comedy It’s Complicated, starring Meryl Streep<\/a>, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin<\/a>. The film follows divorced couple Jane and Jake, who are reunited at their son’s college graduation after 10 years apart and find themselves in a clandestine affair despite their new relationships.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Virgin Media One<\/a> will show two episodes of the British crime series Cooper and Fry from 9pm, while TG4 <\/a>has the 2004 biographical Western Hidalgo from 9.30pm.<\/p>\n
