{"id":330797,"date":"2026-03-05T20:12:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T20:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/330797\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T20:12:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T20:12:10","slug":"pedestrian-dies-three-days-after-being-knocked-down-in-co-kerry-hit-and-run-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/330797\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dies three days after being knocked down in Co Kerry hit-and-run \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A man in his 30s has died of injuries sustained in a hit-and-run incident on Monday in Co <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kerry\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kerry\/\">Kerry<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> have appealed for witnesses to the collision between the pedestrian and a vehicle, which occurred in the Tubrid More area of Ardfert at about 9.20pm. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">They said the man was taken to University Hospital Kerry with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead on Thursday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A postmortem examination is due to take place. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe driver of the vehicle had left the scene before arrival of garda\u00ed. A technical examination of the scene was completed. Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them,\u201d they said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">They have asked anyone who travelled in the area around Tubrid More (Bullock Hill\/Weather Well), Doon North, Lislosse or Station Road in Ardfert between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Monday, and who witnessed anything significant or has camera footage, to come forward.
