Prince William<\/a> has made no secret of his plans to sharpen up the monarchy when he makes it to the throne. And it seems he\u2019s starting early. According to a source, the future king wants Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/a> \u201cdealt with\u201d following his recent arrest. That said, William is understood to still be on good terms with his cousins, Princess Beatrice<\/a> and Princess Eugenie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to PEOPLE<\/a>, royal biographer Andrew Lownie shared insight into how Prince William is handling the Andrew scandal behind the scenes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam wants it all cleaned out before he gets [on the throne],\u201d the expert said. \u201cHe wants it dealt with now.\u201d<\/p>\n

To recap, the former Duke of York was arrested last month<\/a> on suspicion of misconduct in a public office. This followed the release of the Jeffrey Epstein<\/a> files, which included photos of Andrew as well as email communication. He has always denied any wrongdoing and was released from police custody pending investigation.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, the fallout<\/a> is still being felt by the royals, including Andrew\u2019s daughters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are tarnished by this,\u201d Ingrid Seward told PEOPLE. \u201cIt has affected their lives a great deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re caught between a rock and a hard place over loyalty to their parents and their future,\u201d royal author Andrew added.<\/p>\n

Luckily, King Charles is said to be \u201cvery fond\u201d of his nieces. So there\u2019s no sign that they\u2019ll be exiled from the family.<\/p>\n

Sarah Ferguson<\/a>, on the other hand, has been MIA for months<\/a> following the release of the Epstein files. The former Duchess of York was evicted from Royal Lodge along with her ex-husband. And she\u2019s also been dropped by several charities and businesses she was previously associated with.<\/p>\n
