Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s father and former manager, Mathew Knowles<\/a>, says he\u2019s \u201cevaluating all legal remedies\u201d after footage of him abruptly ending an interview<\/a> when a journalist asked about his ex-wife, Tina Knowles<\/a>, and her relationship to their daughter\u2019s pop group, Destiny\u2019s Child, leaked online. <\/p>\n

On Monday, the New York Post\u2019s Page Six shared a previously unseen clip<\/a> from Mathew Knowles\u2019 interview with New York TV news outlet PIX11 on Jan. 30. Toward the end of the chat, anchor Kendis Gibson said both of Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s parents have \u201cearned their flowers\u201d with respect to the success Destiny\u2019s Child has enjoyed over the years. <\/p>\n

\u201cI said the same thing to Ms. Tina Knowles. You guys put in the work, and obviously the talent was there,\u201d Gibson said, after which Mathew Knowles asked, \u201cWhat work did she put in?\u201d<\/p>\n

At first, Gibson credited Tina Knowles for \u201cthe hair, the clothes\u201d worn by Beyonc\u00e9 and her bandmates, to which Mathew Knowles responded, \u201cYou\u2019re absolutely right. The styling, the imaging.\u201d When Gibson went a step further and suggested Destiny\u2019s Child \u201cwas a joint effort,\u201d however, Mathew Knowles quickly shut him down. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll stop now,\u201d he said as he stood up from his chair. <\/p>\n

HuffPost reached out to PIX11 for comment on the footage, which does not appear in Gibson\u2019s full-length interview<\/a> with Mathew Knowles on YouTube, but did not immediately hear back. <\/p>\n

Though it\u2019s unclear how Page Six was able to access the clip, it quickly went viral online, with Sherri Shepherd discussing it on her daytime talk show<\/a> and rapper 50 Cent sharing a snarky response<\/a> on Instagram. Viewers, meanwhile, responded in the comments of Page Six\u2019s YouTube page<\/a> by deeming Mathew Knowles a \u201cbitter, selfish\u201d person and a \u201ctrue narcissist.\u201d <\/p>\n

On Wednesday evening, Mathew Knowles attempted to quell the backlash in a new interview with Page Six<\/a>, telling the outlet that his words were intended as \u201ca question,\u201d after which Gibson \u201cdiminished\u201d Tina Knowles\u2019 contributions to Destiny\u2019s Child. <\/p>\n

Tina Knowles, he said, \u201cdid the styling, built the image for Destiny\u2019s Child. Wouldn\u2019t you agree that\u2019s way more than saying someone just did the hair?\u201d<\/p>\n

Noting that he and Tina Knowles \u201chave a wonderful relationship,\u201d he added: \u201cPeople try to bait us all the time to be against each other. There was a complete misrepresentation here, and I\u2019m evaluating all legal remedies at this time.\u201d <\/p>\n

When Page Six\u2019s Carlos Greer pushed for specifics, Mathew Knowles had no additional comment. <\/p>\n

Mathew and Tina Knowles divorced in 2011 after 31 years of marriage. That same year, Mathew Knowles ended his professional relationship<\/a> with Beyonc\u00e9 after serving as the manager of both Destiny\u2019s Child and the early phase of her career as a solo artist. <\/p>\n

Following the release of her memoir, \u201cMatriach<\/a>,\u201d last year, Tina Knowles gave an interview with Gayle King<\/a> on SiriusXM in which she acknowledged \u201creally tumultuous, terrible times\u201d in her relationship with her former husband.<\/p>\n

Still, she added: \u201cI never questioned whether he loved me or my kids, and we are on good terms.\u201d<\/p>\n
