Mark Labbett<\/a> has hinted he could quit The Chase after he cost ITV \u00a3100,000 and stormed off the show over a huge defeat.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The TV personality has become a very popular face as he has appeared on an array of shows such as Celebs Go Dating<\/a> and various daytime programmes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But now he has said that he believes he is the ‘best Chaser in the world’, but it is a part-time job and he hinted that he could quit the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the National Television Awards<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Mark said: ‘I take great pride in being, as I modestly put it, the best Chaser in the world… I love my job.’<\/p>\n

‘At the same time – it’s a part-time gig. I won’t deny it if I’m lucky enough to get a good offer somewhere else for a full-time gig. But until that time, I’ll keep working.’<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Mark stormed off stage during a dramatic episode of Beat The Chasers that saw ITV<\/a> lose \u00a3100,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After building up a prize pot of \u00a34,000 in the cash builder, Mark upped the ante on the show by offering contestant Gavin the chance to win a six-figure sum if he went up against the five Chasers in just 40 seconds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mark said: ‘I disagree with my colleagues; I think they’ve been far too stingy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I’m gonna reduce the time to 40 seconds on our clock\u2026 and you’ll be playing for \u00a3100,000.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

For those unfamiliar with the premise, the spin-off quiz show sees contestants answer single questions for \u00a31,000 each.<\/p>\n

They then have the chance to win a much larger cash prize by taking on between two and five Chasers in a timed round of less than 60 seconds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unfazed by the limited time on the clock, Gavin took Mark up on his offer in a bid to scoop the massive prize pot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He then went head-to-head with\u00a0Mark, Paul Sinha<\/a> (The Sinnerman), Anne Hegerty<\/a> (The Governess), Jenny Ryan (The Vixen) and Darragh Ennis (The Menace).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Gavin made some simple errors, like saying that Gomez was the head of The Munsters and not The Addams Family, he soon managed to get into a winning streak of correct answers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Vixen said: ‘There’s very little we can do. It doesn’t matter how many of us are up here when you were getting so many of yours right.<\/p>\n

‘When you missed the Addams Family one, I thought, ‘Oh, the wheels might come off here,’ but you got straight back on it.’<\/p>\n

Joking about Gavin’s career as a fireman, The Menace added: ‘At least you got the pyromancy one right.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Viewers of the show also congratulated Mark on the impressive win on social media, writing: ‘Congrats Gavin, well played.’;<\/p>\n

‘What an incredible win!! Well done Gavin \u00a3100k take that holiday you deserve.’;<\/p>\n

‘Blimey, \u00a3100,000 for Gavin! Is that the biggest ever jackpot on Beat The Chasers?’;\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Gavin did not win the largest ever jackpot on the show, it was one of the few triple-digit sums ever claimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other three-figure winners include celebrity contestants\u00a0Rick Edwards and Shaun Williamson, who both won a staggering \u00a3120,000 for their chosen charities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
