The established custodian was eventually restored. PJ Ryan played Kilkenny\u2019s opening game in the 2003 Leinster campaign against Dublin before making way next time out to James McGarry, while David Herity deputised for Eoin Murphy for almost three games in 2014, after replacing Murphy against Galway in the 2014 Leinster semi-final replay.
