<\/p>\nRoyal author Omid Scobie has revealed how the relationship between the two warring brothers has stagnated in recent years amid their six-year-long feud<\/p>\n

Prince Harry and Prince William\u2019s<\/a> relationship hasn\u2019t changed in three years, according to a royal author. Omid Scobie<\/a> has written about the Royal Family<\/a> at length in recent years, penning tell-all books including Finding Freedom and Endgame<\/a>, and has now revealed the true state of the warring brothers\u2019 relationship.<\/p>\n The bond between William and Harry<\/a> first started to fracture when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex<\/a> were still working members of the Royal Family. When Harry and Meghan quit their duties and began speaking openly about their grievances surrounding the Firm, the relationship between the princes only further deteriorated into complete estrangement.<\/p>\n READ MORE: BBC branded ‘appalling’ after axing Commonwealth Day service for Escape to the Country<\/a>READ MORE: Beatrice and Eugenie want to ‘hold onto royal status’ despite Andrew and Fergie scandal<\/a> The relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry hasn’t changed in recent years (Image: In Pictures via Getty Images)<\/p>\n In 2023, Scobie said: \u201cHarry was still waiting for that moment of accountability from his brother \u2014 an opportunity to talk about many of the grievances that have built up to this point and be able to move on from that.\u201d<\/p>\n Now three years later, the royal author told People magazine<\/a> that little has changed between the princes. \u201cNothing has changed,\u201d he says. \u201cThe expectations and wants and wishes of Prince Harry<\/a> are exactly the same as they were then \u2014 and none of them have been met.\u201d<\/p>\n Over the last six years since Harry and Meghan left their royal duties behind, Scobie says Harry made \u201crepeated attempts\u201d to reach out to William both directly and \u201cthrough mutual friends and individuals that they both deem important in their lives,” despite the fractured nature of their relationship.<\/p>\n While the royal expert has recently seen what he calls \u201csome moments of warmth” between Harry and his father, King Charles<\/a>, in recent years, he says \u201cthat hasn\u2019t happened with William.\u201d<\/p>\n The royal author said there has been “warmth” from Harry towards Charles, but not to William<\/p>\n \u201cThe ball has been in William\u2019s court for some time now,\u201d Scobie says. \u201cAnd he\u2019s chosen not just to knock it back, but to kick it in the other direction. I think in terms of family, it takes two, and I think we have seen some effort between Harry and his father go both ways.\u201d<\/p>\n The royal author believes that the Prince of Wales has completely avoided dealing with the matter of his brother for several years, and has made no moves to mend the bridges between them.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI hate to bring this back to William\u2019s role, but as a future king, you would think that one of the things he should be able to navigate easily is family.<\/p>\n \u201cOne day, he\u2019ll be the head of the Royal Family; he\u2019ll be the head of the Church of England. There\u2019ll be a lot of things that he stands for, or will seemingly stand for. And if he\u2019s unable to mend a fracture \u2014 for all the reasons that we know are behind it \u2014 with his brother, I think that also says something about him as a future monarch that may not work in his favour.\u201d<\/p>\n The royal brothers have been estranged for several years(Image: \/ SplashNews.com)<\/p>\n It comes as the Mirror<\/a> \u2019s royal editor Russell Myers wrote in his new biography, titled William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, that the Prince of Wales felt betrayed by his younger brother when he released his tell-all memoir Spare in 2023.<\/p>\n According to Myers, a source close to William said: \u201cAt first, he was incredibly angry.
