A stunning Scandi-style house in Cork will feature in the next episode of Home of the Year on RT\u00c9<\/a>. The fan favourite property series returned this week as series 12 kicked off with more marvellous houses.<\/p>\n Home of the Year will feature 21 stunning homes in the counties of Armagh, Clare, Cork,<\/a> Down, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Kilkenny, Kerry, Mayo and Wicklow. From reimagined semi-detached houses to restored period homes to architectural new builds, the series will showcase a diverse range of design styles and creativity from across the country.<\/p>\n Series 12 of Home of the Year was filmed before judge Hugh Wallace\u2019s death, with award-winning architect Amanda Bone returning for her sixth series and award-winning interior consultant Siobh\u00e1n Lam back for her second.<\/p>\n Home of the Year series 12 was filmed before the death of Hugh Wallace in 2025(Image: RT\u00c9)<\/p>\n Episode 2 will air on Tuesday evening and will feature properties in Cork,<\/a> Kerry and Dublin.<\/p>\n Kate and Ross live together with their three young daughters in their modern, Scandi-style detached new build in Cork. Kate is drawn to the natural materials, neutral colours and natural light, which are prioritised in her dream home. The couple poured hours of work into creating a home that acts as a hub for their family and loved ones. They have recently started a homestead where they get eggs from their chickens and honey from their bees, and love that they have created such a wonderful and sustaining place for their son to grow up.<\/p>\n The build is an open-plan, free-flowing home, featuring a warm and contemporary aesthetic with design details inspired by the couple’s time travelling and working together. The couple say their house is everything they love encompassed in one, and they feel extremely blessed to wake up in it every day.<\/p>\n Robyn and Esther have poured their hearts into refurbishing their Dublin property(Image: RT\u00c9)<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Dublin couple Esther and Robyn first bought their home in Dublin in 2019. It had been empty for some time, and they set out its renovation in two stages. The first step was bringing the home back to its bones, removing old interior walls, plasterwork, windows, and doors, and ultimately raising it to an A2 BER Rating, while the second phase saw the implementation of a two-story steel-clad extension.<\/p>\n The home’s design is a beautiful blend of the traditional and contemporary. They wanted to ensure it is timeless, so they will still love it in 30 years\u2019 time, and say they are proud of the home they have created for them and their son.<\/p>\n The series is sponsored by SIRO, which is offering fans the chance to win an exclusive interior design consultation.
