Charli xcx revealed that she wants to quit music for acting.<\/p>\n

The admission comes on the heels of her most successful album release to date, Brat.<\/p>\n

Charli has admitted that the success of the Brat era has made her feel vulnerable, and more open to exploring her creative options.<\/p>\n

Not to alarm you, but your fave It Girl pop star, Charli xcx, might be leaving the music industry for good after giving her Angels Brat\u2014AKA one of the best dance records of all time.<\/p>\n

Charli appeared on the Feb. 22 episode of Quenlin Blackwell<\/a>‘s Feeding Starving Celebrities and revealed that she wants to potentially quit music in favor of giving actor a more serious go.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you want to act more?\u201d Quenlin asked her. Charli\u2019s response? \u201cYes, are you kidding? I want to quit music, babe, and act. What else is there to do?\u201d<\/p>\n

And Charli even gave Quenlin a hint at the type of project she\u2019d love to have made. \u201cYou know what I really want to do? I made a TikTok about this. An ultimate it-girl Final Destination,\u201d she teased.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not too surprising that Charli is wanting to at least take a break from music. The project, which won Grammys for Best Dance\/Electronic Album, Best Recording Package, and Best Dance Pop Recording for \u201cVon Dutch,\u201d left her career in a very different place than when she started gaining attention for her music in the 2010s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had just come out of this huge change in my life where I\u2019d made the album Brat, which opened me up to a whole new audience,\u201d she said during her February appearance on The Graham Norton Show<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019d not experienced that scale of interest in what I had to say before and it was heavy, confusing and a very vulnerable change.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy response was to make art, so when I was asked to make a real documentary\u2014a concert film\u2014I wanted to poke fun at myself and that world. The music industry is ripe for satire, and I really enjoyed doing it,\u201d she added of her mockumentary film, The Moment.<\/p>\n

When asked if acting was always a passion of hers, Charli added, \u201cI realized even when I am making music I am not listening to music. I\u2019ve always watched and got inspiration from films so, after a while, I thought, \u2018How could I work in that world?\u2019 I don\u2019t feel I have to decide which world I work in. I want to do what makes me feel good in the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aside from The Moment, Charli also starred in Gregg Araki\u2019s recently released movie, I Want Your Sex. She also has roles in The Gallerist and Faces of Death, which have yet to be released in theaters. Still keeping my fingers crossed for another album, though\u2026<\/p>\n
