A woman who drove at speed through Porthall in east Donegal has been fined in court.<\/p>\n
Tracy Miller was fined \u20ac400 at Letterkenny District Court.<\/p>\n
Garda Garrett Monaghan gave evidence of operating a speed check at 9.40am on March 3, 2025 on the R265 at Porthall when he detected a grey Nissan Juke travelling at 76km\/h.<\/p>\n
The section of road in question is governed by a 50km\/h speed limit.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a built up area,\u201d Garda Monaghan said, adding that he subsequently stopped the vehicle and showed Miller the speed.<\/p>\n
A fixed charge penalty notice was issued, but was unpaid by Miller, a 35-year-old of Elmwood Green, Castlederg, Co Tyrone.<\/p>\n
Judge Emile Daly convicted Miller \u2013 who was not present in court \u2013 and fined her \u20ac400, allowing four months to pay.<\/p>\n
