A fatal single-vehicle collision involving a car occurred at Grellagh, Castlegal, Co Sligo on Monday, March 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed and emergency services responded to the incident, which occurred on the N15 at approximately 3.30am.<\/p>\n

A female passenger, aged in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Her body has been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital (SUH) and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.<\/p>\n

The Coroner has been notified.<\/p>\n

A male passenger aged in his 50s was brought to SUH, where his condition is described as critical by garda\u00ed. <\/p>\n

The driver, a male aged in his 20s, and the third passenger in the car, a male juvenile teenager, are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at SUH.<\/p>\n

The road had been closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.<\/p>\n

A Garda spokesperson said, \u201cRoad users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling on the N15 at Castlegal, between Cliffoney and Tullaghan, between 3:10am and 3:40am on Monday, March 9 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
