{"id":338049,"date":"2026-03-10T03:26:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T03:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/338049\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T03:26:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T03:26:10","slug":"enniskillen-murder-victim-named-as-ellie-flanagan-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/338049\/","title":{"rendered":"Enniskillen murder victim named as Ellie Flanagan \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A woman murdered in Enniskillen, Co <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/fermanagh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/fermanagh\/\">Fermanagh<\/a>, on Saturday has been named by police as Ellie Flanagan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A man (45), arrested on suspicion of murder and other offences, remained in police custody on Monday as detectives were granted an additional 36 hours to question him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Flanagan (23) was found dead in the Corban Avenue area of Enniskillen, by officers who were carrying out inquiries relating to a crash on the Carn Road near Tempo at about 9.15pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/police-service-of-northern-ireland-psni\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/police-service-of-northern-ireland-psni\">PSNI<\/a> Det Chief Insp Gary Robinson said: \u201cOur thoughts are firmly with Ellie\u2019s family and loved ones at this very distressing time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Robinson added: \u201cOur team continues to work at pace to establish the circumstances surrounding Ellie\u2019s death and to determine exactly what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Anyone with information that could assist the PSNI is asked to make contact with the police service in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/northern-ireland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/northern-ireland\/\">Northern Ireland<\/a>. \u201cAny detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial to our investigation,\u201d said Robinson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cWe urge anyone who was travelling on the Cornagrade Road into Corban Avenue between 6.30pm and 10.45pm on Saturday evening and noticed anything out of the ordinary, or suspicious, to make contact with us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe local community will continue to see a police presence in the Corban Avenue area over the coming days, as our investigation develops.\u201d \u2013 PA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A woman murdered in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, on Saturday has been named by police as Ellie Flanagan.
