Scott Brown \/ Android Authority<\/p>\n<p>TL;DR<\/p>\n<p>Samsung has rolled out a new \u201cInactivity restart\u201d feature to the Galaxy S26 series.<br \/>\nInactivity restart is a security feature that automatically restarts your phone if it remains locked for 72 hours.<br \/>\nAn automatic restart will have the phone enter into a higher security state, ceasing to display notifications and incoming calls until unlocked.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/s26-ultra-privacy-display-3644708\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Privacy Display<\/a> is one of the most interesting features on the Galaxy S26. When enabled, it can prevent nosy onlookers from seeing what\u2019s on your screen. But that\u2019s not the only new privacy feature on the Galaxy S26. Samsung has quietly rolled out another feature with the February 2026 patch.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t want to miss the best from Android Authority?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/andauth.co\/AAGooglePreferredSource\" class=\"e_wm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\"><img class=\"e_Ag\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/google_preferred_source_badge_light@2x.png\"\/><img class=\"e_Ag\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/google_preferred_source_badge_dark@2x.png\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spotted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sammyfans.com\/2026\/03\/09\/samsung-phones-add-handy-new-inactivity-restart-security-feature\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sammy Fans<\/a>, the security page within Settings on the Galaxy S26 now has a toggle for \u201cInactivity restart.\u201d As the toggle\u2019s description reads, this feature will \u201cRestart your phone if it remains locked for 72 hours.\u201d This isn\u2019t necessarily a new feature, as Google introduced an Inactivity reboot feature on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/android-16-review-3566047\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Android 16<\/a>. However, it appears that February\u2019s patch has added it for the Galaxy S26 series.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"e_Ag\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"samsung inactivity restart feature\"  alt=\"samsung inactivity restart feature\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/samsung-inactivity-restart-feature.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Underneath the toggle is the following warning:<\/p>\n<p>After your phone restarts, you need to unlock it before you can receive notifications and alarms from some apps and see the names of incoming callers. If your SIM is locked, you need to unlock it to receive incoming calls.<\/p>\n<p>This is an optional feature, so you can decide whether to enable it or keep it off. You\u2019ll be able to find it going to Settings, finding Security and Privacy, and tapping on more security settings.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for being part of our community.
