<\/a><\/p>\nThe agreement makes the station the official radio partner of The Boat Race until 2028 and marks the first time Times Radio has been the official broadcaster of a live sporting event.<\/p>\n
Listeners will hear live radio commentary of both the Women\u2019s and Men\u2019s Oxford and Cambridge Boat Races on Saturday 4 April during Easter weekend.<\/p>\n
Jane Mulkerrins will host a special live edition of her Saturday afternoon programme from the Putney riverbank between 1pm and 4pm, close to the start of the race on the Championship Course.<\/p>\n
Coverage will include guests from the rowing world along with reaction and analysis from the riverbank as the races unfold.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the event, the station plans a series of interviews and features with the presidents and crews from both universities to introduce the teams and the stories behind this year\u2019s races.<\/p>\n
Programme director Tim Levell said: \u201cWe\u2019re proud to partner with The Boat Race in a three-year deal through to 2028. The Boat Race is a brilliant fit for Times Radio and our listeners.\u201d<\/p>\n
The partnership also comes as the Women\u2019s Boat Race approaches its centenary in 2027.<\/p>\n
Siobhan Cassidy, chair of The Boat Race Company, said the organisers were pleased to confirm Times Radio as the event\u2019s radio partner on a multi-year agreement starting with this year\u2019s race.<\/p>\n
