\n\tQuentin Tarantino<\/a>\u2018s new play is officially coming to the West End. <\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Variety confirmed<\/a> last week that Tarantino\u2019s next project would be a play possibly premiering in London, further details were revealed in a press release on Wednesday. Titled \u201cThe Popinjay Cavalier,\u201d the play \u2014 described as a \u201cswashbuckling comedy\u201d \u2014 is written and directed by Tarantino and produced by Sonia Friedman Productions and Sony Pictures Entertainment. <\/p>\n

\n\tSet in 1830s Europe, \u201cThe Popinjay Cavalier\u201d is \u201ca rambunctious comedy of deception and disguise inspired by the grand swashbuckling epics of stage and screen,\u201d the press release states. It\u2019s currently in development and planning an early 2027 debut, with a theater to be announced at a later date. Casting, creative team, show dates and other details are also forthcoming.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast week, Variety reported that while nothing is set in stone yet, the cast could comprise both rising and well-known actors. Tarantino first revealed<\/a> that he had written a play during a panel at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, saying that if all goes well, he may just adapt it for the screen to be his 10th and final movie.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf you\u2019re wondering what I\u2019m doing right now, I\u2019m writing a play, and it\u2019s going to be probably the next thing I end up doing,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cIf it\u2019s a fiasco I probably won\u2019t turn it into a movie. But if it\u2019s a smash hit? It might be my last movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
