It is day 8,000 of the Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet ballet-opera drama, and people are still angry at Kylie Jenner\u2019s boyfriend<\/a> for saying that \u201cno one cares\u201d about the classical arts. On Sunday, former prima ballerina Misty Copeland<\/a> joined the chorus of famous people slamming<\/a> Chalamet for his comments. During a panel<\/a> put on by Aveeno, Copeland said that, as one of the many celebrities who took part in the Marty Supreme<\/a> press cycle, she was offended by his anti-ballet sentiment. \u201cFirst, I have to say that it\u2019s very interesting that he invited me to be a part of promoting Marty Supreme with respect to my art form,\u201d she said, apparently referring to a photo of her in the movie\u2019s signature bomber jacket<\/a>, which was posted<\/a> to the film\u2019s official Instagram account in November.<\/p>\n Copeland went on to defend ballet\u2019s relevance in modern culture. \u201cI think that it\u2019s important that we acknowledge that, yes, this is an art form that is not \u2018popular\u2019 and as much a part of pop culture as movies are, but that doesn\u2019t mean it doesn\u2019t have enduring relevance in culture,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I think that it\u2019s often mistaken when something is popular, that it\u2019s more meaningful or more impactful.
