Lionsgate has revealed plans for select early screenings of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/Michael\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael<\/a> before the film reaches theaters for its wide release.<\/p>\n<p>Michael sets early screening date ahead of release<\/p>\n<p>Lionsgate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DVtwLrtj63L\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">announced<\/a> limited early access screenings for the Michael Jackson biopic Michael before its wide theatrical release. The film will play in IMAX and premium large formats on Wednesday, April 22, two days before its nationwide opening on April 24. Tickets for the one-night screenings go on sale at 6 a.m. PT and 9 a.m. ET on March 11.<\/p>\n<p>Antoine Fuqua directs the film, and Michael Jackson\u2019s nephew Jaafar Jackson plays the title role. The official description says the movie follows Jackson\u2019s life \u201cbeyond the music.\u201d It traces his journey from discovering his talent as the young lead singer of the Jackson 5 to becoming a visionary performer pursuing global success.<\/p>\n<p>The film explores Michael Jackson\u2019s life beyond the stage. It charts his development as an \u201cartist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world.\u201d It also highlights moments from his life offstage and iconic performances from his early solo career.<\/p>\n<p>Jaafar Jackson portrays the singer and recreates several of Michael Jackson\u2019s performances and signature movements in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mbtgEE6rkxw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">trailer<\/a> released by Lionsgate. The cast also includes Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson and Miles Teller as John Branca.
