\n\tMaking its world premiere on the opening night of the Austin, Texas film and TV festival\u2019s 40th edition, A Safe Distance follows a couple on a romantic getaway, which turns dark when Alex (Bethany Brown) is abandoned in the wilderness after rejecting her boyfriend Joey\u2019s (Chris McNally) proposal.<\/p>\n
\n\tWhen an off-the-grid couple, Matt and Kianna (Cody Kearsley and Tandia Mercedes), she is quickly captivated by them. But when their sinister past comes to light, Alex must take survival into her own hands.<\/p>\n
\n\tIn a Deadline exclusive clip from the movie, a gunshot breaks out before a blood-soaked Alex and Kianna hide a body in the woods.<\/p>\n
