Mariah Carey<\/a> is opening up about 2001\u2032s Glitter.<\/p>\n

The Here For It All diva recently spoke out about the album, which just hit its 25th anniversary and recently disappeared from streaming.<\/p>\n

She also discussed her much-buzzed about lost grunge album, as well as new music on the way.<\/p>\n

During a conversation with Variety<\/a>, Mariah was asked about whether she has anything planned to celebrate Glitter.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlans for a deluxe and a reissue, or maybe just one, I don\u2019t know. We\u2019re getting on top of it. I\u2019m excited about it,\u201d she revealed, agreeing that music videos like \u201cDon\u2019t Stop (Funkin\u2019 4 Jamaica)\u201d should get remastered.<\/p>\n

\u201cActually, it really would. No, we were just talking about it today. I really think it could be a moment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mariah then admitted her true feelings about Glitter.<\/p>\n

Mariah starred in Glitter as Billie Frank, a young singer who dates a disc jockey who helps her get into the music business, but their relationship becomes complicated as she ascends to superstardom. <\/p>\n

The film and soundtrack were released at the same time as the September 11 attacks in 2001. The movie grossed a total of just above $5 million against a budget of $22 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to hate it. I used to be so like, why did I do that? And then, you know, it became something that I really loved and it just sort of took on its own thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked why she felt that way, she laughed: \u201cBecause it was a disastrous flop.\u201d<\/p>\n

While she acknowledged that it went on to be appreciated over time, she admitted \u201cit was just a tough time for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mariah also addressed her lost grunge album (\u201cI just literally have to wait a minute and put it out. And I\u2019m going to do it\u2026it\u2019s just, you know, a whole thing,\u201d she said), as well as potential new music.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m definitely recording new music and I\u2019m very excited about it. And yeah, I\u2019m kind of like always recording new music, but I hope it will do well and people will like it. But yeah, new music,\u201d she said, refusing to say whether it\u2019s for a record.<\/p>\n
