Rick Scott (R-Fla.) is having a field day with Howard Schultz.<\/p>\n<p>After the Starbucks founder announced he was leaving Seattle for Miami on the same night Washington Democrats passed a sweeping income tax on high earners, Scott took to social media to mock him \u2014 and extend an invitation.<\/p>\n<p>As The Jason Rantz Show previously reported, Schultz announced the move on LinkedIn while the state House finalized passage of the income tax bill, which Governor Bob Ferguson is expected to sign imminently. Schultz cited Florida\u2019s sunshine and proximity to his children as reasons for the move, but the timing said everything Democrats refuse to say out loud.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Heard Howard Schultz is moving to Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Not surprised. Just like <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AOC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">@AOC<\/a>\u2019s mom, everyone comes to Florida to escape woke policies, high taxes and insane regulations. Leave your socialist ideas in Seattle \u2014 they aren\u2019t welcome in the Sunshine State. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IOwf5m3kol\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/IOwf5m3kol<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rick Scott (@SenRickScott) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenRickScott\/status\/2031902593635504377?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">March 12, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Scott welcomes Schultz with conditions<\/p>\n<p>Scott\u2019s video post on X pulled no punches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, who saw this happen?\u201d he said. \u201cOkay, somebody that historically has loved socialist policies is moving to the Free State of Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott did not exactly roll out an unconditional welcome mat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHoward, we love people coming to our state,\u201d he said. \u201cBut guess what? We like conservative politics. We like low taxes, things like that. Now we do have great coffee. We have great cafecitos. I think you\u2019re really going to love Florida, especially Cuban coffee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the Florida senator closed with the broader pitch: \u201cSo come to Florida, enjoy our strong coffee, our low taxes and policies that help everyday citizens do really well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schultz joins a growing line of high-net-worth Washington residents who have relocated to no-income-tax states, including Jeff Bezos, who departed after the capital gains tax passed. Democrats insist the wealthy will stay.
