Jermaine Jenas<\/a> has reportedly put his family home up for sale following the breakdown of his marriage, 18 months after he was axed from the BBC<\/a> and lost his \u00a3190k salary.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former footballer – who was capped 21 times by his country between 2003 and 2009 – was dismissed by BBC bosses in August 2024 over allegations of workplace misconduct after sending explicit texts to two female employees.<\/p>\n

While at the time Jermaine said he and wife Ellie Penfold<\/a>, who married in 2011, hoped to work through their marital troubles, the couple eventually split in March last year.<\/p>\n

And now the former One Show presenter has put the family’s\u00a0six-bedroom property, near Barnet, North London, on the market for \u00a34.95million.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to The Mirror,<\/a> pictures on an estate agency website show the impressive property which\u00a0includes an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room, gym, cinema room and playroom.<\/p>\n

Jermaine, 43, and his ex wife Ellie, 37, lived at the property with their two daughters, Geneva and Olivia and son Jacob after the star bought the house for \u00a32.8million back in 2006.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail have contacted Jermaine’s representatives for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jermaine previously admitted his split from Ellie wasn’t his call as he grovelled for forgiveness before accepting his fate.<\/p>\n

The ex-footballer is now trying to rebuild his career with a series of podcast appearances<\/a>\u00a0after losing his \u00a3190,000 salary with the BBC.<\/p>\n

He revealed he had opened up his own production company – which has helped open new doors for his career, addressing the fact that he wasn’t allowed to do certain things while employed by the BBC in what has become his previous life.<\/p>\n

On a podcast appearance back in the summer, Jermaine admitted how much he really lost through the sacking, and revealed the promise he made to himself when the decision was made to let him go.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Reece Mennie on his podcast<\/a>, he said: ‘Having worked in the media for the last ten years, and having been through what I\u2019ve been through for the last year, been a really difficult moment for myself and my family what happened which I have always held up my hand and taken full responsibility for, that\u2019s very important to do.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘You go through a lot of different emotions of anger and blame, but eventually you realise: “Take responsibility, Jermaine, and you\u2019ll be able to move forward.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Because of their ability to take away my life, in terms of every deal I had, the jobs that I had at that particular time, I said that is never happening to me again, so I’ve recently set up my own production company.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘My agency that I had at the time weren\u2019t that supportive of it.<\/p>\n

‘This is not their fault, but when you\u2019re in this kind of media bubble where you work for the BBC, there are so many walls in terms of what they want you to do and what you\u2019re not allowed to do.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Betting companies want to work with me because I\u2019m in football; BBC hate that because of the issues to do with gambling in general, so they block all of that.<\/p>\n

‘So there were a lot of blocks on one side and football was bringing me some stuff, but the reality is that it ALL got wiped out. It all got taken away.’<\/p>\n

Ellie was left ‘raging’ and kicked the former Tottenham Hotspur star out of their bedroom at their \u00a31million family home when it was revealed he had sent explicit messages to two members of staff at the BBC.<\/p>\n

Jermaine confessed to lying to Ellie, who describes herself as a ‘wife and mother’ in her Instagram bio, during a family holiday to Spain when he sneaked off to talk to his bosses about the messages.<\/p>\n

The former England star admitted sending the texts but insists he has done nothing illegal.<\/p>\n

He denied ever sending indecent images or videos and said the messages were between consenting adults, one of whom ‘made it clear she was interested’.<\/p>\n

However Jermaine has said he is ‘ashamed’ and ‘deeply sorry’ as he apologised for his conduct.<\/p>\n

He revealed he was fired in an excruciating video call – while he was on a family holiday in Marbella, Spain, with his wife and their three children.<\/p>\n

Jermaine slammed this as ‘grim’, having to ‘sit there and listen to what you’ve said’ as four people on the Zoom call read out his inappropriate text messages.<\/p>\n

He said he went on to lie to his wife after being informed of the allegations to ‘find a way out of this mess’.<\/p>\n

Ellie broke her silence on events at the launch of her new personal care brand Preppy in November.<\/p>\n

She said: ‘My only focus has been on our children and building my brand Preppy. Now I just want to move forward.<\/p>\n
