There’s a new man in Joanne McNally’s life, and no, he’s not AI… how dare you!

In February, the comedian introduced her beau, Fionn, to her online community, and his appearance raised some eyebrows, leaving Joanne with no choice but to make a statement.

‘It has come to my attention that several media outlets are suggesting that my new partner, Fionn, is some sort of AI-generated fake photo opportunity and that I’m not actually living with him in his six-bed, four-bath, south-facing penthouse in Walthamstow,’ Joanne began with a heavy helping of cheeky sarcasm.

‘Firstly, how dare you,’ she quipped. ‘Secondly, regarding the topless issue that so many of you have chosen to focus on.

‘Fionn has recently been diagnosed with a very severe form of ADHD, and THAT is why he is always exposed from the waist up, it’s ’cause he forgets to bring a top, it’s part of his condition, accusations of being “a thirsty c**t” or “showboating” are unfounded and frankly insulting to all and anyone struggling with neurodivergence.’

‘Thank God Fionn has chosen to stay off grid for now and is not privy to the reckless rumours circulating about him personally and us as a real-life couple,’ Joanne, who always chats candidly about being a single woman, continued. ‘Shame on you all, legal letters are coming.’

Joanne’s pals banded together to feed into her hilarious prank, with Katherine Ryan and Emma Doran expressing their delight at ‘meeting him’.

Elsewhere, James Kavanagh commented: ‘Me and William had a threesome with him last year, he’s fantastic, enjoy xxx.’

Dancing with the Stars judge Oti Mabuse commented: ‘Joanne, you had me putting my phone down and clapping,’ as her friend joled: ‘Jesus, he’s image of his Da … sending love you two x.’

Someone else teased: ‘Joanne!!!!!! I used to babysit Fionn. Lovely family. I’ve a few stories I can tell you…. Good on ya. I’ll happily mansit him for you when you head out on single sundays xxx love you x’

‘I kissed him in The George last week lovely guy,’ added another person while actress Danielle Galligan said: ‘Fionn is punching is all I’ll say.’

Of course, when Joanne appeared on the Late Late Show on Friday, March 13, host Patrick Kielty couldn’t help but probe the comedian about her ‘new relationship’.

‘You seem a little jealous Patrick!’ Joanne quipped.

‘Oh, yeah, that’s Fionn, I invented him, he is absolutely mad about me, I resent the accusations that he is AI,’ she joked. ‘I mean, I’ve dated guys with no intelligence, so artificial intelligence is great.’

We think ‘Fionn’ is the best use of AI we’ve ever seen. It sure as hell beats Kieran Cuddihy’s jarring ‘AI girlfriend’ anyway!
