Oprah Winfrey has explained that her \u201c90-year-old walk\u201d at Paris Fashion Week<\/a> earlier this month was because she couldn\u2019t see properly.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the internet, somebody was\u2026you know how people drag you on the internet. So they were dragging me and Gayle saying, \u2018Look at them walking like they\u2019re 90 years old,’\u201d Oprah said during a recent appearance, per a clip shared by Instagram user @jznotthatjayz<\/a> on Friday \u2014 and later re-shared by the talk show icon herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so there was a moment where we\u2019re walking into the Chloe fashion show and my [assistant] had just handed me the Chloe sunglasses before I got out of the car,\u201d she continued, noting that she \u201cwears glasses<\/a> or contacts\u201d and that the couture shades \u201cwere not prescription glasses.\u201d<\/p>\n

She confessed with a laugh, \u201cI didn\u2019t know where I was walking, I could not see.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo everybody who\u2019s saying \u2018you\u2019re walking like you\u2019re 90,\u2019 I could not see!\u201d she explained, recalling that she told security, \u2018I can\u2019t see. I can\u2019t see. Tell me, tell me where I\u2019m walking. I can\u2019t see.’\u201d<\/p>\n

She hilariously added that longtime pal Gayle King, who was walking alongside her, said, \u201cI got two broken toes. I can\u2019t walk.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded, \u201cAnd that\u2019s the reason we looked like we were 90 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOprah saw all your comments about her walking,\u201d Instagram user Joseph Zambrano wrote atop the clip, captioning it, \u201cAnd there you have it<\/p>\n

Footage from the March 4 show<\/a>\u00a0at the Tennis Club de Paris showed the author, 72, carefully taking small steps as she arrived, rocking the sleek sunglasses, a cropped yellow jacket and jeans. She finished the look with a pair of low heels.<\/p>\n

King, 71, trailed behind her walking carefully in a black leather blazer and rust colored slacks.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, this is the first time we Oprah seems old,\u201d one person remarked on the TikTok clip shared by Paris Match. \u201cThey are both in their 70\u2019s,\u201d another noted, adding, \u201cI think Oprah looks great.\u201d<\/p>\n

But others speculated that Winfrey\u2019s use of weight loss medications<\/a> \u2014 which she\u2019s admitted to using to achieve weight loss<\/a> \u2014 was the cause of the seemingly disoriented gait.<\/p>\n

The TV personality \u2014 who previously shaded use<\/a> of GLP-1s for weight loss \u2014 revealed in 2023 that she used an unspecified weight loss medication<\/a>\u00a0as part of her ongoing health journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing,\u201d\u00a0she told People in December 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that there\u2019s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI\u2019m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself.\u201d<\/p>\n
