{"id":348078,"date":"2026-03-15T21:44:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-15T21:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/348078\/"},"modified":"2026-03-15T21:44:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-15T21:44:07","slug":"teenager-stabbed-following-18th-birthday-party-near-cork-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/348078\/","title":{"rendered":"Teenager stabbed following 18th birthday party near Cork City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A teenager is in hospital after being stabbed following a birthday party in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/news\/cork-news\/\">Cork City<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He was attacked after an argument broke out among teenagers following the birthday party in the Blackrock area of the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The teenager, who is in his late teens, was treated for his injuries at the scene at around 1am by paramedics who then rushed him to Cork University Hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Another teenager has been arrested by garda\u00ed and he is currently being detained for questioning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Statements have been taken from people at the party, and footage from CCTV cameras in the area is being collected by garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A spokesperson said: \u201cGarda\u00ed and emergency services attended the scene of a serious assault in Blackrock, Cork city on Sunday shortly before 1am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cAn adult male in his late teens was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cA male juvenile was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in Cork city under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cInvestigations are ongoing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Anybody with information is urged to contact garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A teenager is in hospital after being stabbed following a birthday party in Cork City.
