A Cork Lotto player was already in luck after winning \u20ac500 – only to land an extra million in a special raffle draw.<\/p>\n
A \u20ac500 win is a lovely mood booster to wake up to on a Sunday morning, but finding that you’ve been awarded an additional million euros on top is liable to put a permanent smile on your face for the next few years. The life-changing additional win was awarded as part of last night\u2019s Lotto Plus Raffle event.<\/p>\n
The Lotto Plus Raffle typically sees between 60 and 120 winners of \u20ac500 in every draw – but last night\u2019s draw saw one Cork player bring home an even higher windfall due to a special Raffle event.<\/p>\n
Each of the tickets with the winning Lotto Plus Raffle number drawn were entered into a once-off random draw, where a single ticket was selected to win an additional prize of \u20ac1 million. So while every ticket holder who had the winning Raffle number won \u20ac500, one player has won \u20ac1 million, in addition to the usual \u20ac500 prize. The winning Raffle number was 1725.<\/p>\n
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said: \u201cWhat a weekend it\u2019s been for a Lotto player in Cork! Saturday night sure did prove to be reason to celebrate after the online player won \u20ac1,000,500 in the special Lotto Plus Raffle event, earning them the title of 4th National Lottery millionaire of 2026.<\/p>\n
“An email has been sent to the online winner\u2019s account encouraging them to check their account. And of course, that wasn\u2019t our only big winner in Saturday night\u2019s draw. Two players in Kildare and Galway scooped \u20ac42,191 each in the main draw. The Saturday night winners should now make contact with our Prize Claims team who will make arrangements for them to visit Lottery Headquarters and collect their prize.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, another lucky Leesider took home \u20ac50,000 on a Prize Bond win<\/a> – nearly 30 years after purchasing their bond. The weekly prize of \u20ac50,000 went to Prize Bond number BM144825, which Ireland State Savings has confirmed is held somewhere in Co Cork.
