March 16 (Reuters) – Amsterdam-based AI infrastructure firm Nebius Group said \u200cMonday it has signed a five-year deal with \u200cMeta Platforms to provide the social media giant with $12 billion of \u200bAI computing capacity across multiple locations by 2027.<\/p>\n

Under the deal, Meta will also buy an additional $15 billion worth of capacity planned by Nebius over the coming \u200cfive years if it \u2060is not sold to other customers, giving the contract a total value of up \u2060to $27 billion, Nebius said.<\/p>\n

Last week, Nvidia<\/a> said it would invest $2 billion for an 8.3% stake in Nebius, \u200bwhich uses \u200bNvidia chips in its \u200bdata centers.<\/p>\n

The deal \u200cis the latest sign of U.S. tech giants racing to supplement their own AI data-centre build-outs by locking in scarce GPU and power capacity from “neocloud” providers like Nebius.<\/p>\n

Neocloud firms Nebius and U.S. competitor Coreweave provide \u200cinfrastructure but hope to become \u200bmajor cloud service providers in \u200btheir own right.<\/p>\n

Nebius CEO \u200bArkady Volozh said the latest Meta \u200cdeal would help “accelerate the build-out \u200band growth of \u200bour core AI cloud business.”<\/p>\n

It signed an initial $3 billion deal with Meta in November and a $17.4 \u200bbillion deal \u200cwith Microsoft<\/a> in September.<\/p>\n
