Arne Slot will find it incredibly difficult to win the Liverpool fanbase back after hearing boos at Anfield following Sunday\u2019s draw with Tottenham.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the view of Jamie Carragher<\/a>, who has warned Slot<\/a> that he must now do something \u2018really special\u2019 in order to wrestle back support which is quickly fading.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Sky Sports<\/a> ahead of Monday night\u2019s Premier League match, Carragher suggested that the writing is now on the wall for the Liverpool head coach<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Slot has been coming under pressure for a long time at Liverpool<\/a> following a dreadful campaign, but according to Carragher, up until Sunday, most of the Anfield<\/a> crowd were still willing to back him. That has now changed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there\u2019s a difference with most support in terms of what we see online compared to the match-going fans, and I think for a lot of this season when people have turned on Arne Slot, the match-going fans have stuck with him,\u201d said the Liverpool legend<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou think even on the back of what happened with Mo Salah, the next game was in the San Siro, they were chanting for Arne Slot. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not easy for a Liverpool crowd to turn on a manager who\u2019s won a title 12 months before.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I felt there was a big shift yesterday in terms of how the Liverpool crowd felt about their team and their manager. The booing at the end, that was proper booing, that was a really unhappy and disgruntled fanbase, and I think it\u2019s going to be really difficult now for Arne Slot to get them back. <\/p>\n

\u201cSomething really special could happen in terms of a Champions League, maybe you win the FA Cup and qualify for the Champions League, but I think a lot of supporters have gone on the back of what\u2019s happened in this last week especially.\u201d<\/p>\n

Analysis: No way back for Slot at Liverpool<\/p>\n

Sunday was arguably not the lowest point of Liverpool\u2019s miserable season, that likely came in November, when the Reds lost back-to-back home games by a three goal margin to Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven.<\/p>\n

Liverpool were willing to stick by Slot then, and there was still a chance that he could recover and keep his job at Anfield in the long-term.<\/p>\n

Pick the better Liverpool manager <\/p>\n

Current feelings for Slot aside, has he been better than Benitez?<\/p>\n

However, though things have improved to a degree, there has simply been far too many days like the draw against Tottenham.<\/p>\n

The football on offer has been slow, turgid and uninspiring, and that is perhaps what has angered the home crowd more than anything else.<\/p>\n

As Carragher says, something special could still happen in terms of Liverpool winning a trophy, but it does not feel especially likely.<\/p>\n

Even if that were to happen, it would possibly be best for everyone if Slot used the opportunity to go out on a high rather than use it as a launchpad for a comeback. There is a feeling that everyone is just trying to limp to the end of the season before making a change, and that does not bode well for the atmosphere at Anfield.<\/p>\n
