The Premier League announced it was charging Manchester City for breaching the rules in February 2023. <\/p>\n
A report has emerged revealing the latest on Manchester City’s 115 charges case. <\/p>\n
Man City <\/a>have 115 charges against them for alleged Premier League<\/a> financial rule breaches.<\/p>\n Over three years have passed since the league announced it was charging Pep Guardiola’s team for breaching a series of rules related to alleged financial wrongdoing between 2009 and 2018.<\/p>\n Man City, who have strongly denied any wrongdoing throughout the entire ordeal, face several possible sanctions if they are found guilty, including expulsion from England’s top flight or being stripped of their titles that they won during the nine-year period.<\/p>\n A record points deduction<\/a> has also been mooted.<\/p>\n According to The Athletic<\/a>, sources on both sides of the case have received no update from the independent panel on the timings.<\/p>\n Per the report, they spoke ‘anonymously because they are not authorised to comment publicly on the proceedings’.<\/p>\n The publication later highlighted the lack of clarity provided by both parties.<\/p>\n The Athletic also questioned over what happens when the panel’s decision is finally reached.<\/p>\n They state ‘it is unclear whether they will recommend any potential punishment or merely decide the question of guilt’, before suggesting ‘while it is also not known whether that potential punishment would be suspended until after any appeal, itself likely to be at least a year-long timeline’.<\/p>\n Richard Masters spoke out on Man City’s legal battle with the league at the Business of Football summit in February.<\/p>\n But he remained tight-lipped over the matter.<\/p>\n Speaking before the start of the season, he said: “I really can\u2019t comment, and there are very good reasons for that.<\/p>\n “As you know, our rules are very clear.
