EXCLUSIVE: The Donegal family who own the Radisson Blu Hotel Letterkenny has sold the business to a major Irish hotel chain.<\/p>\n

The Byrne family, from Liscooley, opened the doors of the hotel at Paddy Harte Road back in 2003.<\/p>\n

Donegal Daily can now confirm the family have agreed to sell the hotel to the TMR Hotel Collection, a group consisting of more than sixteen hotels across Ireland owned by Austrian investor Thomas Roggla.<\/p>\n

It is understood that in excess of \u20ac16 million was paid for the 114-bedroom, four star Radisson Blu Letterkenny.<\/p>\n

Included amongst TMR\u2019s other hotels in Ireland is Harvey\u2019s Point in Donegal.<\/p>\n

Paul Byrne, Managing Director at the Radisson Blu Letterkenny, confirmed the sale to Donegal Daily.<\/p>\n

He said \u201cAfter 23 years as our family-owned hotel, we are delighted to announce the sale of the Radisson Blu Hotel Letterkenny to the TMR Hotel Collection.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Byrne said his family owe their deepest thanks to our many loyal customers, guests, and friends.<\/p>\n

He added \u201cThank you for your trust, support, and unforgettable shared memories throughout the years. We are especially grateful to the incredible staff and in particular to those who have given long service, some since day one of the hotel operations.<\/p>\n

They have brought passion and excellence to the hotel every day and will continue to do so for many more years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

It has also been confirmed that the hotel will continue to proudly trade as the Radisson Blu Hotel Letterkenny offering customers all the benefits of being members of the Radisson Hotel Group.<\/p>\n

Mr Byrne added \u201cWhen my father and I developed Letterkenny\u2019s first 4 star hotel in 2003 we hoped it would be an asset not just for our family business but also for Letterkenny and we trust that this has been the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt now gives us great comfort to hand over the hotel to the prestigious and highly respected TMR Hotel Collection who will ensure that it continues to thrive and prosper as part of their large network of 4 and 5 star hotels throughout Ireland.<\/p>\n
