{"id":353596,"date":"2026-03-19T02:27:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T02:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/353596\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T02:27:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T02:27:08","slug":"memories-of-a-creamery-closed-in-limerick-over-40-years-ago-to-be-shared-at-special-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/353596\/","title":{"rendered":"Memories of a creamery closed in Limerick over 40 years ago to be shared at special event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FORMER workers, suppliers, members of Darragh Creamery in Glenroe, and the\u00a0 wider community, are invited to attend and bring along objects and share stories about the creamery in south east <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/limerickleader.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> and rural life this Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the development of an interpretation project for Darragh Creamery, Glenroe \/ Ballyorgan Community Council and heritage consultants, Abarta Heritage, are organising a\u00a0 show and tell story sharing event.<\/p>\n<p>All are welcome to come to Glenroe hall this Thursday, March 19, from 8 to 9.30pm to share their memories of the creamery and to bring along\u00a0 objects or artefacts from the past.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Darragh Creamery was established in 1903 by the Golden Vein Dairy Company. A site was selected adjacent to the public house of John and Mary McGrath for this new venture.
