BBC<\/a> presenter Liz Kernshaw took aim at Princess Kate<\/a> as she turned heads at her fourth Windsor Castle banquet this year<\/a>. On Wednesday (March 18), King Charles hosted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, alongside Camilla, Kate and Wills and some 160 guests. The 44-year-old looked nothing short of sensational as she stepped out in the floor-length green gown, which she accessorised with the King Charles III Royal Family Order and GCVO Sash and star and a Lover’s Knot Tiara.<\/p>\n

The dress by Andrew Gn is matched with earrings from the late Queen and the same tiara she wore at Donald Trump<\/a>‘s state visit in September. The mum-of-three’s gown also diplomatically matched the green on the Nigerian flag as she took her seat beside the President for a three-course meal.<\/p>\n

The rest of the present royals added to the glamorous display, with the Prince of Wales wearing a white tie with the Windsor tailcoat and his Most Noble Order of the Garter Sash with the ‘Lesser George’.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla sported a cream embroidered gown by Fiona Clare, which she paired with a sapphire and diamond tiara and matching earrings, both belonging to Queen Elizabeth II and given to her by her late father, George VI, as a wedding gift.<\/p>\n

The King also wore a blinding array of diamond-studded orders as he led the procession into the banquet hall and stood to give a speech. But it’s fair to say that some Brits were surprised at Kate’s extravagant display at the state banquet.<\/p>\n

After pictures of the event hit headlines, broadcaster Liz Kershaw took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share her shock at her appearance online. She penned: “Why the hell is the future Queen dressed like this tonight at Windsor Castle? In England? In the 21st century?”<\/p>\n

However, many of her followers called the presenter out for her cruel comments in the replies section, with one user fuming: “I thought she looked lovely – as always. What’s your issue? Would you like her to challenge her guests or engage with them? There’s good sense, good taste, good manners on display, and you say ‘What the hell?'”<\/p>\n

Another agreed: “She looks fabulous. You are just too accustomed to women walking around and being photographed half-naked; a fully dressed person still looks beautiful.” A third echoed: “She is wearing the colour of the Nigerian flag in honour of the guest… [eyes-rolling emoji].”<\/p>\n

A fourth pointed out: “She is dressed appropriately to honour the visiting dignitaries’ cultural values of modesty. The dress was made for her in 2022, and like Anne, who wore a coat from 1969, she recycled it. Catherine is respectful.”<\/p>\n

A fifth added: “Disappointed in you, who I quite like. You have created a mass pile on with religious tropes! Nice one [thumbs up emoji] Catherine is wearing a dress suitable for the evening in the colours of the guests’ flag.
