In case you haven\u2019t heard, the Hannah Montana-issance is nigh. Last month, Miley Cyrus announced<\/a> she\u2019d be putting her blonde wig back on for the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, which airs next week on Disney+. Well, according to a new Variety<\/a> interview, we have Cyrus to thank for single-handedly willing it to fruition.<\/p>\n Cyrus first started dropping hints about the reunion over the summer, saying in a July interview with SiriusXM<\/a> that she wanted to do \u201csomething really, really special\u201d for the show\u2019s 20th anniversary. But according to her, Disney hadn\u2019t even agreed to a special when she said that. \u201cI learned this terrible habit \u2014 but I actually think it was good advice \u2014 from Dolly,\u201d she told\u00a0Variety<\/a>, referring, of course, to her godmother, Dolly Parton. \u201cShe told me that if you want something to happen, promote it before it exists. Then no one can say \u2018no.\u2019 So\u202fI just started promoting a Hannah Montana 20th-anniversary special that\u202fliterally did\u202fnot exist.\u201d<\/p>\n Call it lying or call it manifesting \u2014 it worked. After rumors started flying about a potential reunion, Cyrus said she sent some of the fan reactions to Disney executives as evidence that it \u201cwould be huge.\u201d Disney\u2019s Charlie Andrews told Variety<\/a> it began planning for the special in December, calling it a \u201cmad dash\u201d to pull it off. \u201cShe willed it into existence,\u201d Andrews said.
