{"id":356063,"date":"2026-03-20T12:07:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T12:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/356063\/"},"modified":"2026-03-20T12:07:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T12:07:07","slug":"the-irish-hotels-federation-welcomes-new-vice-presidents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/356063\/","title":{"rendered":"The Irish Hotels Federation Welcomes New Vice-Presidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/irish-hotels-federation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Irish Hotels Federation<\/a> (IHF) has announced the election of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/tracy-coyne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tracy Coyne<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/fergal-oconnell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fergal O\u2019Connell<\/a> as vice-presidents.<\/p>\n<p>They join IHF president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/matt-oconnor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt O\u2019Connor<\/a> in representing over 900 hotels and guesthouses employing over 69,000 people throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>Both Coyne and O\u2019Connell are long-standing, active members of the IHF and bring extensive experience to the role of vice-president, having previously served as members of the IHF\u2019s National Council and Management Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Background<\/p>\n<p>Coyne is a senior hospitality executive in Kerry with extensive experience spanning financial services, corporate finance, and hotel asset management.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Connell is chief executive of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/fitzwilliam-hospitality-group\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fitzwilliam Hospitality Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on their election, Coyne and O\u2019Connell said it is a tremendous privilege to have been elected and to represent the hotel sector, which makes such an important contribution to the economy.<\/p>\n<p>They said they look forward to working closely with their IHF colleagues and engaging with government and industry partners to support the key policy priorities for the sector and wider tourism industry, particularly in relation to cost competitiveness, sustainability, and people development.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Extensive Experience\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to congratulate Tracy and Fergal on their election as vice-presidents of the Irish Hotels Federation,\u201d said president O\u2019Connor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir commitment to our sector and extensive experience are a great asset to the IHF as we continue to advocate for members at the highest levels of government.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) has announced the election of Tracy Coyne and Fergal O\u2019Connell as vice-presidents.
