Singapore\u2019s Changi Airport<\/a>, home to a \u2018forest valley\u2019 and the world\u2019s tallest indoor waterfall, has once again been named the best in the world by\u00a0Skytrax\u2019s annual\u00a0World Airport Awards<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the fourteenth win for the airport, which last year served nearly 70 million passengers. Asian hubs filled out the rest of the top five, with Seoul Incheon coming in second place and Tokyo Haneda coming in third.<\/p>\n

Notably, Doha Hamad Airport \u2013 last year\u2019s second-place winner<\/a> \u2013 is missing from this year\u2019s ranking, after the airport\u00a0pulled out of conferences, awards and events due to the ongoing Middle East conflict<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

How are the winners decided?<\/p>\n

The \u2018Oscars of Aviation\u2019\u00a0recognises hubs across the planet for outstanding customer satisfaction, based on a comprehensive survey of travellers, which this year ran from August to February.<\/p>\n

Travellers were asked about\u00a0every aspect of the airport experience. It\u2019s quite the deep dive \u2013 questions\u00a0range from the friendliness of airport staff to cleanliness, entertainment options and even the availability of luggage trolleys.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Over 575 airports were assessed to determine the final ranking.<\/p>\n

Other winners<\/p>\n

Alongside recognising the best of the best, Skytrax doles out awards across a variety of categories. Tokyo Haneda topped the list of the\u00a0world\u2019s cleanest airports<\/a>, Houston Airport got the gold for best airport art<\/a>\u00a0and Seoul Incheon was named the most family-friendly airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n
