{"id":360917,"date":"2026-03-23T13:21:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T13:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/360917\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T13:21:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T13:21:09","slug":"northern-quarter-officially-opens-at-belfast-international-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/360917\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Quarter Officially Opens At Belfast International Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new Northern Quarter at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/belfast-international-airport\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Belfast International Airport<\/a> has officially opened to passengers, following a \u00a31 million investment by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/mount-charles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mount Charles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new Northern Quarter Bar &amp; Kitchen will replace the previous food court layout with a single, 180-seat restaurant and bar operating alongside a dedicated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/bewleys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bewley\u2019s coffee dock<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investment in the Northern Quarter represents an important part of our airport transformation programme,&#8221; said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalityireland.com\/tag\/dan-owens\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Owens<\/a>, chief executive officer at Belfast International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The new offering will deliver more choice for our passengers and provide a wide range of high-quality food and beverage options in a unique and welcoming space. We are looking forward to building on this partnership with Mount Charles as we continue to invest in the passenger experience over the years ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project forms part of the airport\u2019s wider \u00a3100 million transformation programme and strengthens the partnership between Mount Charles and Belfast International Airport that spans more than 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>The new concept introduces a full-service, hospitality-led offering designed to give passengers a higher quality environment before departure. The fit-out includes a complete redesign of the space, upgraded kitchen facilities and new seating areas tailored to different passenger needs, from quick coffee stops to full dining,<\/p>\n<p>The opening has also led to the creation of 40 new roles, doubling Mount Charles\u2019 team at the airport to 80 employees.<\/p>\n<p>Belfast International Airport handles more than 6.7 million passengers each year and is Northern Ireland\u2019s principal gateway.
