\n\tDisney<\/a> is expanding its growing \u201cCreate Your World<\/a>\u201d documentary series with a new episode spotlighting the Viktor&Rolf x Disney<\/a> Collector Cinderella Doll<\/a>, a couture collaboration with Mattel that reimagined one of Disney\u2019s most famous princesses. The 30-minute special, \u201cDisney Princess: Create Your World \u2014 Mattel and Viktor & Rolf,\u201d premieres Tuesday on Hulu\u2019s and ABC\u2019s digital platforms.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, from Viktor & Rolf<\/a>\u2019s Amsterdam atelier to the Paris Fashion Week debut earlier this year. It marks the third installment in Disney\u2019s series, following earlier collaborations with Coperni and Pandora, and was filmed by documentarian Reiner Holzemer.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor years, we have created porcelain miniature dolls as an intimate reflection of our work and imagination,\u201d designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren told WWD in a statement. \u201cCollaborating with Disney and Mattel has allowed this personal universe of couture to expand beyond ourselves. We are very excited to share not only the final creation, but also the process behind it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the center of the episode is the limited-edition Cinderella doll, a reinterpretation of the classic Disney character inspired by a look from Viktor & Rolf\u2019s spring 2019 couture collection<\/a>. The designers\u2019 signature sculptural aesthetic transforms Cinderella\u2019s familiar blue gown into a couture statement piece that bridges fashion and fantasy.<\/p>\n

\n\tJoss Hastings, vice president of global marketing at Disney Consumer Products, said in the episode the project\u2019s underlying concept is the idea \u201cthat every girl, every woman has a Disney Princess in her.\u201d Hastings added that the collaboration\u2019s magic lies in its unpredictability: \u201cWe want to bring fresh creativity. We want to surprise and delight fans\u2026where you end up, you never know \u2014 and that\u2019s what is incredibly exciting and powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFor Hastings, the doll\u2019s reinterpretation underscores Disney\u2019s evolving approach to fashion storytelling. \u201cAs you look at this doll, you\u2019ll see so many of the references,\u201d she said in the documentary. \u201cShe\u2019s wearing the iconic slippers. She\u2019s wearing the iconic blue. But the interpretation \u2014 the dress she is wearing \u2014 is so different. It\u2019s so fashion, and that\u2019s what I love about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
