{"id":364650,"date":"2026-03-25T16:35:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T16:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/364650\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T16:35:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T16:35:09","slug":"marketing-executive-at-bauer-media-granted-bail-after-e110k-cannabis-seizure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/364650\/","title":{"rendered":"Marketing executive at Bauer Media granted bail after \u20ac110k cannabis seizure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A marketing executive with a radio network has been released on bail after appearing in court over a seizure of \u20ac110,000 worth of cannabis at his office building in Dublin on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Seafra O&#8217;Donovan, 35, an employee of Bauer Media, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and having it for sale or supply at Marconi House, Digges Lane, Dublin 2, on March 23rd.<\/p>\n<p>The location of the seizure, which was part of a joint Garda and Revenue Customs operation, is the base for Newstalk, Today FM, and affiliated radio stations.<\/p>\n<p>Dressed in a black sleeveless jacket, navy sweater, white shirt, dark pants and black runners, O&#8217;Donovan sat silently throughout the brief hearing before Judge Conor Fottrell at Dublin District Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>No plea was entered to the charges, which are under sections 3 and 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.<\/p>\n<p>Garda Conor Hearns told Judge Fottrell that the accused, of Leeson Park, Court, Ranelagh, in Dublin city&#8217;s southside, was charged shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, handed a copy of the charges, and &#8220;made no reply&#8221; when cautioned.<\/p>\n<p>Garda Hearns, from the divisional drugs unit at Kevin Street, confirmed he was not objecting to bail with conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, Judge Fottrell ordered O&#8217;Donovan to sign on two days a week at his local Garda station, notify of address or mobile phone number changes and not apply for a passport.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"not-prose no-underline\" data-action=\"click\" data-category=\"Read more article clicked\" data-label=\"https:\/\/www.breakingnews.ie\/ireland\/man-20s-dies-following-electric-scrambler-collision-in-clare-1879125.html\" data-value=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breakingnews.ie\/ireland\/man-20s-dies-following-electric-scrambler-collision-in-clare-1879125.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/2-54373195-1.jpg\" class=\"rounded-sm object-contain bg-transparent z-10 w-full h-full not-prose\" alt=\"Man (20S) Dies Following Electric Scrambler Collision In Clare\" width=\"278\" height=\"156\" \/><\/p>\n<p>        Ireland<\/p>\n<p>Man (20s) dies following electric scrambler collision in Clare<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Defence solicitor, Aoife Dalton, informed Judge Fottrell that her client had provided his phone number and that his passport had already been handed in.<\/p>\n<p>Garda Hearns asked for a lengthy adjournment, two to three months, if possible, as the investigation was still ongoing and a file needed to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Fottrell ordered O&#8217;Donovan to appear again on May 27th next.<\/p>\n<p>As part of a pilot project BreakingNews.ie has used AI to suggest headline options for this article.
