The 15-year-old son of investor and philanthropist Ronald Perelman and psychiatrist Dr. Anna Chapman has died, Page Six has learned.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re told the gifted teen passed away on Tuesday night on the island of St. Maarten. His death is believed to be connected to a longstanding medical issue.<\/p>\n

A rep for Perelman declined to comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a kind, smart child,\u201d a source said, \u201cVery smart \u2014 he was his father\u2019s son.\u201d<\/p>\n

The MacAndrew & Forbes billionaire, 83, and Dr. Chapman tied the knot in 2010 and they announced the same year that they were welcoming Oscar<\/a> via a surrogate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had some trials and tribulations getting to this point, and we are both thrilled,\u201d Dr. Chapman told Page Six at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cA baby is something they\u2019ve both really wanted for a while,\u201d a source said. \u201cFriends say they\u2019ve never seen Ronald happier or more content.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perelman made a fortune in the 1980s with investments, perhaps most notably in hair care brand Revlon, and he\u2019s become one of the city\u2019s leading philanthropists with contributions including the Ronald O. Perelman Departments of Emergency Medicine and of Dermatology at NYU Langone Medical Center, the\u00a0Ronald O. Perelman Heart Institute at New York Presbyterian Hospital, and the\u00a0Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical Center.<\/p>\n

Perelman and Dr. Chapman also welcomed another<\/a> child via surrogate in 2012.<\/p>\n

He was married to Faith Golding from 1965 to 1984, and the exes share four kids: Steven, Josh, Hope, and Debra.<\/p>\n

Perelman is also the father of daughter Samantha, whom he shares with his late ex-wife and late Page Six editor <\/a>Claudia Cohen. They were married from 1985 to 1994.<\/p>\n

He and his third ex-wife, Patricia Duff, whom he wed in 1995, welcomed daughter Caleigh.<\/p>\n
