Paris Jackson is reflecting on a past romance that she used as inspiration for her new song, \u201cZombies in Love.\u201d<\/p>\n

The haunting tune, which the \u201clet down\u201d singer, 27, co-wrote with Linda Perry was released on March 19. Days later, Paris shared the meaning behind the song with fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s kind of about, well, what all of my songs are about, which is either like drugs or boys or in this case, both,\u201d Paris \u2014 the daughter of the late legendary pop singer Michael Jackson \u2014 shared in a video<\/a> posted on Instagram on Tuesday, March 24. \u201cIt\u2019s about a relationship that I was in over half a decade ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Admitting at the time, Paris considered the unnamed person the \u201clove\u201d of her \u201clife,\u201d she continued: \u201cWe had a very, you know, toxic, drug-fueled relationship and you know, it\u2019s something that I still dip back into that well to get some ink for my pen when I\u2019m writing, because it\u2019s just an endless well of material that I can pull from because there\u2019s a lot of feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what like, kind of half my record is about, it\u2019s what\u2019s my entire first record was about. It\u2019s [about] feelings and getting through it, getting out on the other side,\u201d the model explained. \u201cIt\u2019s really cool to be able to look back on it with sober hindsight and kind of seeing that for what it was.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the National Enquirer<\/a> previously reported, Paris \u2014 who split from music producer Justin Long in November 2025 \u2014 celebrated six years of sobriety in January, marking the milestone with a poignant message<\/a> shared on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cGetting sober ain\u2019t always the indication that life is perfect,\u201d she wrote, adding: \u201cI had to learn to live life on life\u2019s terms.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to NME<\/a>, Paris is believed to be releasing a second album later this year.<\/p>\n
