Prince William<\/a> and Queen Camilla<\/a> are divided over how much responsibility King Charles III<\/a> should continue to shoulder as he undergoes treatment for cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam wants his father to slow down and take a proper step back,\u201d a source tells Examiner. \u201cBut every time he suggests it, Camilla gets in Charles\u2019 ear and convinces him it would be a disaster to show any weakness right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Things came to a head between William, 43, and Camilla, 78, over a recent state banquet that Charles, 77, hosted for Nigerian president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and first lady Oluremi Tinubu at Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n

Charles has been battling cancer since 2024 and while his treatments have been reduced<\/a> in the New Year, Buckingham Palace has not announced that monarch is in remission.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam\u2019s furious that Camilla seems to care more about promoting herself and protecting her position than she does about protecting Charles,\u201d dishes the source.<\/p>\n

As Examiner previously reported<\/a>, the Queen Consort is desperate to secure her future within the royal family \u2014 and the perks that she currently enjoys \u2014 in the event of Charles\u2019 passing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam is past the point of even trying to hide his distaste for Camilla. You can see it written all over his face whenever they\u2019re in the same room,\u201d says the source. \u201cCamilla lost his trust ages ago and once you lose William\u2019s trust, there\u2019s really no coming back.\u201d<\/p>\n
